My bday gift …. publiction & another cover

This lovely publication has been on news stands for about 24 days now. So yep I am a little behind on the blogging of current studio press. But I held out for a reason you see, today is my bday and I can think of no better gift! {Thanks Tessa & UTB&G!} I feel so blessed by the opportunities that I have been graced with in that last few years. The summer of 2010 brought one such opp in a styled shoot for the mag. But I hadn’t dared dream that another one of my bouquets would make the cover for the second year in a row. This cover is simply stunning and I am so proud to be part of the collaboration that created it.

Inside the issue you will find more pics of the shoot … in fact a several page spread. Thanks to Megan {my partner in so many things} for help in styling this shoot with me! It turned out beautifully.

Just a little sampling ….

There are also other images from other Studio Stems events throughout the mag. Such an honor to be recognized, I am truly so grateful & flattered.

Show Flowers

Though Studio Stems did not do a show last weekend per say we had a presence of sorts at a few … just thought I would send a shout out …

For those of you that stopped by the thanksgiving point show, you may have seen this lovely arrangement on a lovely farm house table in the booth belonging to Alpine Event Rentals! We love those guys and their product! Thanks for stopping by, admiring, and possibly taking a Studio Stems card! I loved this arrangement, the roses hardly receive justice in my mediocre photography. Their color really is actually stunning. A secret variety ….

If you stopped by the grand America show then you perhaps even met Megan & I representing our blog Utah Bride Blog. We had a great time meeting all you planning brides & interacting with the industry professionals we were surrounded by. The most rewarding was hearing so many of you say, I read UBB … everyday! Thank you so much! Makes it all worth it, and reminds us why we do what we do! This was our lovely little booth. Megan customized our little pinwheels on the back, a local artist crafted our custom chalkboard sign, Pink Peach Cakes supplied the cake, Alta Moda Bridal loaned us this amazing & gorgeous Anne Barge gown, the furniture was courtesy of Alpine Event Rentals, and the flowers came from yours truly.

One of the things I like most about shows as a vendor hanging out with industry friends both old and new. Seeing the talents progress & inspire. Though I had heard of this new cake company I had yet to see their actual work so I was thrilled when I was able to spend some time in their booth and taste their lovely cake. It was delicious and visually stunning, my favorite booth of the weekend.

One Sweet Slice

its show time! were can you find studio stems?

Its that time of year when there are oodles of fun bridal things to do and several show options to attend. Studio Stems has really been out of the “show” business for several years, and technically we still are. But we wanted to let you know about a few shows you can see our work at this weekend.

First if your going to the best show in town your headed to the Grand America Hotel for the Bridal Extravaganza from 11-5:30. You can meet Audrey the owner of Studio Stems in the Utah Bride Blog booth … why? cause she owns that too! There will be some lovely floral arrangements courtesy of Studio Stem in the booth.

Second if your staying in the Utah County area & will be heading to the Thanksgiving Point show you will see the most charming two guys in the Alpine Event Rentals booth. We love and adore these chaps, they really have the most amazing rental items around! There you will find a Studio Stems centerpiece on their amazing farm house table display.

sometimes its simple

Simple, clean, traditional, beautiful. Megan congrats! And thanks to Mikki Platt for the gorgeous images!

pin a bout on a man

You really cant effectively pin a bout to yourself that’s for sure! Have you ever needed or wanted this skill? UBB flower friday offers a little tutorial on one good way to go about pinning bridal party flowers from yours truly.  Just like many things there is more then one way to skin a cat …. right? There are others, but this little write up is just my perception of how to do it.

With all that I would also like to mention usually a good florist who is providing a delivery service to their client will take care of this need for you. Or they should rather, we do here at Studio Stems. But should you elect to NOT receive a delivery service, or should you elect to use aunt Betty for your flowers or some other source this little tid bit of info might be of benefit to you!

Enjoy! have a great weekend!

Oldouz & Ben {opie foto}

As promised this amazing wedding {images courtesy of the ever so unique & talented opie} Ben &  Oldouz had a one of a kind event that blended her Persian heritage with his Irish flavor! The wedding took place @ millcreek inn and was one of my favorites from 2010. The colors were so rich and unique. You can see more on UBB. We used a variety of flowers in a variety of colors to create these custom floral pieces.
